Jules’ take on this variety is a far cry from the big buttery Chardonnay-bombs from the 1990s. Instead Jules prefers a wine with delicate freshness and attractive fruit flavours that express the vineyards in which they were grown. With only 10% new oak, this elegant wine that will convert even the most die-hard chardonnay-basher!
• Marlborough Late Harvest — This little sweetie is a cool character with a twinkle in its eye. Jules takes everything she loves about Sauvignon Blanc and concentrates it down into teeny tiny quantities of honeyed gold in this lusciously sweet wine. Only made when perfect vintage conditions allow, this botrytised, late-harvest, sweet style of Sauvignon Blanc shows how versatile Marlborough's signature grape can be.
• Marlborough Pinot Gris — Forget what you think you know about Pinot Gris and try this tasty little treat. Jules conjures up some winemaker witchcraft to coax every last ounce of personality out of this subtle little grape. Modern clones combine with traditional wild ferments, barrel aging and lees stirring to elevate the aromas and textures of this wine. The end result is a flavour-packed mouthful of peach and citrus with an elegant spicy dry finish: a wine that is the perfect party pour.
• Marlborough Pinot Noir — Pinot Noir is the rising star of Marlborough and the variety that most expresses seasonal differences. Grown on the southern hills in clay soils, this Pinot is well rounded with oh-so juicy flavours of cherry and black Doris plum. The wild fermentation along with extended lees maturation have added complexity and texture to the dark fruits and the finish is dry with a nice touch of dark chocolate and spice.

Jules has made this dry Merlot-based Rosé since 2009 — years before NZ jumped on the booming Rosé bandwagon in the mid-2010s.
