  • Schön! 47 | all about art | print UK — Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Change often begins in art. – Ursula K. Le Guinn We’ve dedicated Schön! Issue 47 to art, to celebrate one of – if not the – most beautiful aspects of our lives, which is our capacity to connect to others through creativity. Periods of strife are conditioned by a sense of loss, grief and loneliness. We’re in turbulent times, which makes connection, emotions and inspiration even more important. It’s what allows us to find common humanity, a unifying force to reinvent the world we live in, which is why art, whether it’s visual, sculptural, conceptual, sound, written or performance, is the place where we come together. We understand each other and feel compassion, through art. It’s what gives us hope. Art works in many ways, and we look to the young generations taking change into their own hands. We start our journey with Parisian-based visual artist Jan Melka, in a special CHANEL editorial by Jorre Janssens, as she tells us why she believes “There are no rules to art.” Meanwhile, Carl Giacomello Scharnberg, dancer extraordinaire, brings movement and energy to the pages of this issue. We continue with singer-songwriter-rapper Rema, who’s making waves with his unique sound, and singer Kid Bookie, who is pushing the boundaries of metal and rap as he immerses himself in the sonic experience with Marshall Monitor III A.N.C headphones. Irish actor, activist, LOEWE muse and breakout star of Saltburn Alison Oliver tells us about her latest project Task. French actor Pierre Niney, fresh from the international success of The Count of Monte Cristo, talks us through the intricacies of his craft while dazzling in Lacoste, and Josh Heuston takes a deep dive into the world of Dune: Prophecy. We also sit down with Gavin Leatherwood to discuss It’s What’s Inside and the dangers of social media, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez about making Netflix’s Monsters and his latest project Grotesquerie. As we step into Season 3, Yasmin Finney explains how she’s evolved since she first took on her role in Heartstopper. But art comes in many forms. Jordan Rondel, who uses cake as her medium, tells us how she put the cool back into baking. Finally, Canadian author, poet and illustrator Rupi Kaur, in Pandora, talks to us a decade on from her seminal work Milk and Honey. It’s a journey, to discover yourself, and others. Art can help us in that process, to be a bigger and better version of ourselves. Schön! is here to celebrate those helping us make that change. Print release. October 2024 publisher. ©Schön! • Schön! 48 | all about desire | in print — "The world is little, people are little, human life is little. There is only one big thing – desire." - Willa Cather When looking for inspiration for our 48th issue, there was an aspect of creativity which we realised we rarely look at: the initial spark. What moves us, what inspires us and what pushes us to act? At the heart of it all is desire. It’s the inspiration that compels us to create; that sensation of longing for something, the idea which is at the inception of it all. That, dear readers, was the starting point to our issue – the dynamic energy behind all our greatest actions in life. Desire can be interpreted in multiple ways, as we learnt when we asked our collaborators to embody and represent what the act of desiring was for them. It’s a philosophical question that opens us up to the multiplicity of experiences of human life. From mind and creativity to body and beauty, from concrete IRL love to spiritual longing: desire moves us in many ways. We start with cover star Emma Myers, captured by Cameron Postforoosh in CHANEL. An example that dreams really can come true, Myers tells us how her childhood obsessions were realised, from working with hero Jack Black and starring in ‘A Minecraft Movie’ to being immortalised as a LEGO mini figure. Meanwhile, model and content creator Calum Harper is soon set to achieve his childhood ambition of becoming an actor, and Stephanie Suganami shares her excitement about her first feature film ‘Opus’. Accomplished actor Jason Isaacs recounts how he coveted a role in ‘The White Lotus’ and why “having an interesting time at work”, such as in his latest film ‘The Salt Path’, is more important to him than career goals. The desire to weave stories seems to be a common theme; Alicia Von Rittberg entrances in Fendi, as she contemplates her character’s true motivations in ‘Dinner for Five – Killer for One’. Wunmi Mosaku stuns in Pandora, while telling us why discovering new characters, worlds and genres motivates her, including horror film ‘Sinners’. Meanwhile, Zoë Bleu Sidel talks us through making Luc Besson’s ‘Dracula: A Love Tale’ and why it’s less about horror than about a love and longing that transcends lifetimes. But weaving stories spills into many disciplines. Actor, artist and musician Booboo Stewart explains how art addresses his yearning for greater self-understanding. Kelly McCormack longs for a way back to the truth, which she finds through music. She also tells us what drew her to her new film ‘Sorry, Baby’. Michael Cimino wants to up his game and resonate with audiences through his upcoming music and screen projects “Until Dawn” and “Motorheads”. Dressed in Louis Vuitton, recording artist, DJ and producer Badchieff tells us how he explores themes of desire and loss. Summer Walker reveals why she’s ready to start a fresh chapter and explore new themes and genres in her music. Both talk us through their new albums. The multi-faceted Jameela Jamil aims to put “uplifting and positive content out into the world” with movies such as Pixar’s ‘Elio’, while staying true to herself and embracing her imperfections. On the set of a Miu Miu special, author, entrepreneur and sustainability advocate Kiara Nirghin shares why she strives for a future where technology and AI are used for the greater good. Fashion and desire have long gone hand in hand. In Paris, we shoot the H&M Studio Resort Capsule Collection against the iconic skyline and explore the dynamic energy of movement with the Fall 2025 Collection’s Lifestyle Capsule from Dior Men. In Milan, meanwhile, we enter an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style universe, with the DEDAR Milano x Westwing collection. Falling in love with life, exploring new dreams, letting yourself be inspired, opening yourself up to new possibilities; these are just some of the sensations we'd like to conjure within these pages. We hope you're as inspired as we were making this issue. print cover. Emma Myers by Cameron Postforoosh digital re
  • Schön! 49 | all about reinvention | in print — “We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise we harden.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Fashion is a living language. As a vital creative force, it constantly reinvents itself, shifting form with each new season, each new voice, each new body that wears it. For this issue of Schön!, we wanted to look back at why fashion magazines exist in the first place. We questioned our creative process, our work, and our vision — and realised this: it all starts with the models and the designers, the talented teams, the faces and the stories that give shape to a concept. The impulse for change gives the beat, and the need for reinvention sets the rhythm. At the centre of our Issue 49 story is our cover star Aweng Chuol, who epitomises beauty as something alive, fluid and ever-changing. Inside, Noah Bates adds a sharp edge to menswear, underscoring fashion’s core — evolution over stasis. We spotlight the talent reshaping style and culture in their own ways. Haley Lu Richardson, radiant in PANDORA, reinvents herself through her debut poetry book and pole-dancing pursuits. Lexie Liu bridges music and futurism, while Charlie Heaton captures the restless momentum of change as he prepares for the release of the final season of Stranger Things. Sonja Weißer grounds the idea of reinvention with an actor’s quiet strength, while Asha Banks and Ella Anderson embody youth in flux — a reminder of film’s enduring creative power. The pages of Schön! have always been open to voices who resist definition, such as model and activist Vivian Jenna Wilson and timeless icon Erykah Badu, whose groundbreaking fusion of music, soul and style has redefined cultural boundaries for decades — reminding us that change is not a trend, but a way of being. In Berlin, we turn our lens to artisans whose craft becomes a form of storytelling: florist Lilo Klinkenberg, food stylist Hannah Kleeberg, photographer and content creator Melanie Kieback, and author Raphaëlle Red. Each of them is portrayed in CHANEL, underscoring how creation itself is an act of reinvention — whether through words, images, flavours or blooms. In an exclusive editorial with Louis Vuitton, we show iconic codes reimagined through a fresh lens. The A/W 2025 collection by Nicolas Ghesquière is a perfect example of fashion that combines heritage, modernity and novel inspiration to continue writing new stories. Schön! 49 explores the energy of fashion — the forward motion of imagination, the inventive flow that underpins every feature in this issue. Creating is an act of reinvention, and every reinvention begins with the people behind the stories. print cover. Aweng Chuol by Michelle Helena Janssen release. October 2025 publisher. ©Schön!
